We train the voice, presence, and performance skills that shape how you and your team connect, lead, and persuade.
Interactive, hands-on workshops for law firms, corporate leadership teams, and professional organizations. We combine embodied performance technique, communication science, and peer-level experience in BigLaw and the C-suite to create a disciplined, supportive space where your team builds real skills — presence, connection, language facility, and public speaking.
Workshops are available as 60-90 minute sessions, or half-day, full-day, and multi-session formats. We also offer CLE-accredited programs for lawyers.
High-stakes performance skills consulting for trial teams preparing for oral argument, opening and closing statements, witness examinations, and other litigation needs. We also work with expert witnesses, business leadership teams preparing for board presentations or public-facing events, and public figures navigating high-visibility moments, and assist with casting needs for trials and mock trials nationwide.
We align strategy and speech, pressure-test delivery under realistic conditions, and coach precision, presence, and authenticity so your message reaches juries, boards, stakeholders, and the public.

Public Speaking and Presence Coaching for Lawyers and Leaders
Human Skills for the AI Era™
Welcome. Take your time exploring.
The most compelling communicators are fully present — clear in their speech, grounded in their body, and genuinely connected to the people in the room. That's been true in courtrooms, boardrooms, and on public stages for as long as those spaces have existed.
Today, in an era of unprecedented technological polish, the need for engaging human presence has become harder to ignore.
Vox Vera® is a premium communication and performance coaching consultancy for lawyers, business leaders, thought leaders, and public figures. We develop the human architecture of communication: voice, executive presence, embodied language, and the capacity to connect, lead, and persuade under real pressure.
Our work focuses on developing the capacity for authentic, compelling delivery rather than surface-level polish or projected confidence. We train how communication lives in the body — how breath, sound, language, movement, and physical presence meld to create credibility and connection that hold up in high-stakes moments. Clients learn how to guide audiences as leaders, skillfully reorient when things go sideways, and communicate with clarity and authority, again and again.
Our approach draws on rigorous performance craft and decades of real-world experience in demanding environments — federal courtrooms, Fortune 500 boardrooms, TV studios, elite classrooms, and major stages. That experience shows up as a visceral understanding of what it takes to be clear, grounded, and compelling when the room is watching.
Our clients include partners at global AmLaw firms and elite litigation boutiques, Fortune 50 senior executives, and public figures from politicians to Hollywood actors.
Most work begins with a conversation, not a commitment.
Our Approach
Performance Craft as a Communication Discipline
We train performance skills as a physical discipline. Our methodology draws on performance training traditions used to prepare actors, world leaders, opera singers, trial advocates, Olympic athletes, and teachers whose work depends on live human attention — traditions that long predate conventional executive presence and presentation coaching and that are now reinforced by contemporary neuroscience research on how people register credibility, trust, and emotional coherence.
Clients learn to work with breath, voice, physical alignment, language choice, and spatial awareness as an integrated system. The result is communication that remains responsive and fully human under pressure — grounded, intentional, and alive to the room.
Our proprietary frameworks — the Performance Ladder™ and the Presence Ladder™ — provide a clear structure for developing this capacity over time. They integrate self-knowledge, physical and vocal technique, audience connection, and real-time adaptability into a single practice that applies equally in courtrooms, boardrooms, classrooms, client meetings, and public fora.
This work is rigorous, engaging, practical, and valuable for anyone willing to do the work. The aim is reliability: the ability to show up fully and consistently when it counts.
Vox Vera® was founded by Paul Marchegiani and is supported by a select team of associate coaches who bring deep performance training and real-world professional experience to their work.
Paul's career has moved through the rooms our clients are preparing for. He practiced as a BigLaw litigator for five years, then spent fifteen years as a senior executive in the entertainment industry, negotiating talent deals and leading business affairs teams at major studios. He is also a classically trained performer who has appeared with LA Opera, the San Francisco Symphony, and Ensemble Shakespeare Company in New York — and the only U.S. lawyer certified as a Patsy Rodenburg Associate, a lineage of voice and presence training rooted in one of the world's most respected performance traditions.
He now teaches public speaking and communication skills at Stanford Law School and UC Berkeley, where his courses consistently generate substantial waitlists. His writing on communication, presence, and legal education has been published in ABA Syllabus, Law.com/ALM, The NALP Bulletin, and The Daily Journal.
What holds this together is a single perspective: courtrooms, concert halls, boardrooms, and classrooms all demand the same human skills — the ability to be physically present, vocally clear, intellectually honest, and genuinely connected to the people in the room. That perspective is the foundation of everything we teach.
Our associate coaches share this standard — performance-trained professionals with experience at high levels of law, business, academia, and the arts. Peers who understand the rooms you are preparing to enter.
